लाला जी के एक दोस्त थे उनका नाम लाला लेखराज जो घड़ियों का काम करते थे | उनके पास अपने छोटे भाई साहब राम को उनके पास काम सिखाने के लिए बिठा दिया | काम सीखने के बाद उसे दुकान दे दी और उस्ताद के आशीर्वाद से अपना काम करने लगा | शहर के कुछ दोस्तों के साथ आर. एस. एस. की शाखा में जाना शुरू कर दिया |
साहब राम जी आर. एस. एस. और भारतीय जन संघ के कार्यकर्त्ता थे | नौजवान थे (उनकी एक घटना) कुछ मुसलमानों के लड़के गाय पकड़ कर ले जा रहे थे | यह अपने कुछ साथियों के साथ उनसे पूछा कि गाय को कहाँ ले जा रहे हो ? उत्तर मिला काटेंगे | चाचा साहब राम ने कहा पहले मेरे को काटो फिर इसे काटना | तनातनी के बीच लड़ाई हो गई | उनके कुछ मित्र भाग गये मुस्लिम लड़कों ने उन्हें पकड़ लिया और नवाब के बंगले में ले गये |
लाला जी को जब पता चला वह नवाब के बंगले में गये और कहा नवाब साहब यह मेरा छोटा भाई है | लाला जी के बताने पर नवाब ने कहा कि पटवारी जी, इसे कुछ दिनों के लिए यहाँ से बाहर भेज दो, नहीं तो यह मारा जाएगा | लाला जी ने उन्हें दुबारा विन्डी भेज दिया | कुछ दिनों के बाद फिर वापस आया और दुकान पर अपना काम करने लगा | सन् 1947 से पहले हिंदुस्तान में ब्रिटिश हुकुमत थी |

लाला जी ने नवाब से गुहार लगाई जब नवाब साहब ने अपने कुछ बन्दों को हमारी रक्षा के लिए भेजा और वह रात्रि को हमें घर से निकाल कर हमारे परिवार को कराची तक पहुँचाया | लाला जी के पास दस हज़ार रूपये का चेक (इम्पीरियल बैंक, जोधपुर) नाम था | उस राशि के खर्च से हम कराची से पानी वाले जहाज में मुंबई पहुंचे | मुंबई से फिर दिल्ली पहुँच कर, कुछ दिन रहने के बाद हम गुड़गाँव आ गये | गौशाला ग्राउंड में टेंटों में कई परिवारों की रिहायश थी |
गुड़गाँव में जमीन अलाट मांडी खेडा में मिली | पूरा परिवार मांडी खेडा में जा बसा | लाला जी की नौकरी पलवल में लग गई | लाला जी, चाचा साहब राम फिर हमें गुड़गाँव ले आये | चाचा ने घड़ियों का काम शुरू कर दिया | लाला जी को दिल्ली में नियुक्ति मिल गई | पंजाब सरकार ने 40 वर्ग गज की कोठियां बनाई और हर परिवार को एक – एक कोठी अलाट हुई | जिसका नाम अर्जुन नगर है | अंत में लाला जी कहते थे भगवान की कृपा से हम हिंदुस्तान पहुंचे जब त्रासदी जो वहाँ हुई उसका नजारा सामने आता है जो हृदय कांप जाता है |

After reaching Delhi again from Mumbai, after staying for a few days, we came to Gurgaon. Many families were living in tents in Gaushala Ground.
Got land in Gurgaon at Alat Mandi Kheda. The whole family settled in Mandi Kheda. Lala ji got job in Palwal. Lala ji, Chacha Sahib Ram again brought us to Gurgaon. Uncle started the business of watches. Lala ji got appointment in Delhi. The Punjab government made kothis of 40 square yards and each family was allotted one kothi. Whose name is Arjun Nagar.
