आम आदमी पार्टी कार्यकर्ता अभय जैन एडवोकेट व आप के दक्षिण हरियाणा लीगल हेड अशोक वर्मा एडवोकेट के मुताबिक हरियाणा में सरकारी एवं निजी स्कूल मिलाकर कुल 25 हजार स्कूल हैं। जिसमें से 14 हजार 500 सरकारी व करीब 10 हजार 500 निजी स्कूल हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश के सरकारी स्कूलों में खाली पड़े 32 प्रतिशत पदों में सबसे अधिक टीजीटी (ट्रेंड ग्रेजुएट टीचर) और पीजीटी (पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट टीचर) के पद खाली हैं। इनमें टीजीटी के तो 55 प्रतिशत पद खाली हैं। हकीकत यह भी है कि यहां शिक्षकों के मंजूर पदों की तुलना में खाली पदों में लगातार बढ़ोतरी हो रही है।
नियमित शिक्षकों की भर्तियां नहीं होने के कारण अब स्कूलों से सेवानिवृत होने वाले शिक्षकों के बाद शैक्षणिक ढांचे की स्थिति बदहाल होती जा रही है। पहले जहां शिक्षकों की भर्ती कर्मचारी चयन आयोग के माध्यम से नियमित तौर पर होती थी, अब सरकार अपनी कंपनी रोजगार कौशल निगम के माध्यम से करना चाह रही है। मतलब अब सरकार शिक्षक जैसे महत्वपूर्ण पदों पर भी नियमित भर्ती करने से कदम पीछे हटा रही है।

प्रदेश के स्कूलों में टीचिंग, नॉन टीचिंग के 1 लाख 37 हजार 895 पद हैं, इसमें से 46 हजार 459 पद खाली पड़े हैं। अतिथि अध्यापकों के 12 हजार 156 पद शामिल हैं। खाली पदों में प्राचार्यों के 398, मुख्य अध्यापकों के 112, पीजीटी शिक्षकों के 13974, टीजीटी के 20467, पीआरटी के 4846, गु्रप डी (सफाईकर्मी, माली, चौकीदार आदि) के 6662 पद खाली हैं।
