ऐसे में मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल द्वारा यहां प्राकृतिक स्रोत को फिर से विकसित करने की दिशा में कदम उठाकर प्रकृति और पर्यावरण को संजीवनी देने का काम किया है। इस कार्य के लिए मुख्यमंत्री के प्रयास रंग ला रहे हैं।
मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल द्वारा सिकंदरपुर जल निकाय के कायाकल्प और सौंदर्यकरण के साथ वन क्षेत्र में भी विस्तार करके एक नयी और पर्यावरण के प्रति सकारात्मक सोच को जन्म दिया है। यह कार्य हम सबके लिए एक आदर्श बनेगा।
नवीन गोयल ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री ने सिकंदरपुर के समीप 90 एकड़ क्षेत्र में विकसित जल निकाय के कायाकल्प व सौंदर्यकरण से जुड़ी परियोजना का भी शुभारंभ करके अरावली क्षेत्र में जंगल में मंगल करने का काम किया है। कुल 9.1 करोड़ रुपये की बड़ी राशि खर्च करके यहां जिस तरह से जल निकाय क्षेत्र विकसित किया गया है, यह हम सबके लिए प्रेरणा का काम है।
ऐसे कार्यों के लिए फंड से अधिक व्यक्ति की काम के प्रति रुचि जरूरी है। शहरों में हरित क्रांति लाने का यह नया प्रयास है, इस पर हम सबको मिलकर काम करना होगा। गुरुग्राम जैसे महानगरों में हमने कंक्रीट के नये शहर बनाकर आर्थिक संपन्नता तो दिखा दी है। यहां अच्छा जीवन व्यतीत हो इस पर भी काम करना जरूरी है।
नवीन गोयल ने कहा कि इस जलाशय का अस्तित्व लौटाने में गुरुग्राम नगर निगम ने जो कार्य किया है, वह अनुकरणीय है। गंदगी और प्लास्टिक, कचरे से अटा पड़ा यह जलाशय साफ करना अपने आप में जंग जीतने के जैसा था।
मैनपावर के साथ मशीनों का इस कार्य के लिए प्रयोग किया गया। इसमें से कई टन गंदगी, कचरा, प्लास्टिक निकाला गया। यहां उगी झाडिय़ों को हटाया गया। पेड़ों का सौंदर्य भी बढ़ाया गया, जब जाकर यह जलाशय अस्तित्व में आया।
यहां प्राकृतिक यानी बरसात का पानी भारी मात्रा में पहुंचे, इसके लिए रिहायशी क्षेत्रों से पाइन लाइन डालकर इसकी कनेक्टिविटी की गई। मानसून के समय में बरसात का पानी व्यर्थ जाने की बजाय इस जलाशय को लबालब करेगा।
नवीन गोयल ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री ने अपनी विशाल सोच को अमलीजामा पहनाते हुए सीएसआर फंड के तहत इस परियोजना को धरातल पर उतारा है। इसमें कोई दोराय नहीं कि 90 एकड़ में फैला सिकंदरपुर जलाशय और वाटर शेड गुरुग्राम को स्वच्छता और हरित वातावरण उपलब्ध कराएगा।
गुरुग्राम की जनता से आह्वान करते हुए नवीन गोयल ने कहा कि सरकार ने निजी क्षेत्र के साथ मिलकर बहुत काम कर दिया है, अब हम सबकी भी जिम्मेदारी है कि इसे बढ़ाने के लिए अपना योगदान दें।

Naveen Goyal said that the work done by Gurugram Municipal Corporation in restoring the existence of this reservoir is exemplary. Cleaning this reservoir, littered with filth and plastic waste, was like winning a battle in itself.
Machines were used for this work along with manpower. Many tons of dirt, garbage, plastic were removed from it. The bushes grown here were removed. The beauty of the trees was also enhanced when this reservoir came into existence.
Natural i.e. rain water reached here in large quantity, for this its connectivity was done by laying pine line from the residential areas. During the monsoon season, instead of going waste, the rain water will fill this reservoir.
Naveen Goyal said that the Chief Minister has put this project on the ground under the CSR fund by implementing his big vision. There is no doubt that Sikandarpur Reservoir and water shed spread over 90 acres will provide cleanliness and green environment to Gurugram.
