गुरुग्राम। भारतीय जनता पार्टी के युवा नेता नवीन गोयल ने किसानों के मसीहा सर छोटूराम की पुण्यतिथि पर उन्हें नमन करते हुए कहा कि वे एक साधारण परिवार में जन्में असाधारण व्यक्ति थे। उन्होंने जीवन पर्यन्त समाज के लिए, देश की भलाई के कार्य किया। आज उन्हें हर कोई नमन कर रहा है।
नवीन गोयल ने कहा कि सर छोटू राम की जन्म स्थली रोहतक जिला के खंड सांपला के गांव गढ़ी-सांपला में सर छोटू राम को भारतीय जनता पार्टी की सरकार ने उचित सम्मान दिया है।
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने उन्हें उनकी जन्मस्थली पहुंचकर नमन किया। पीएम ने सर छोटू राम की 64 फुट का अनावरण करके उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि दी। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा है कि सर छोटू राम का कद एवं व्यक्तित्व बहुत बड़ा था।
उनका देश और किसानों के लिए बहुत अहम योगदान रहा है। वे पंजाब प्रांत के सम्मानित नेताओं में से थे। उन्होंने 1937 के प्रांतीय विधानसभा चुनावों के बाद अपने विकास मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया। नवीन गोयल ने बताया कि उनका असली नाम रिछपाल था। वो घर में सबसे छोटे थे, इसलिए उनका नाम छोटू राम पड़ गया।
उन्होंने अपने गांव से पढ़ाई करने के बाद दिल्ली में स्कूली शिक्षा ली। सेंट स्टीफंस कॉलेज से ग्रेजुएशन की। सर छोटू राम ने अखबार में काम करने से लेकर वकालत भी की।
सर छोटूराम बहुत ही साधारण जीवन जीते थे। वे अपनी सेलरी का एक बड़ा हिस्सा रोहतक के एक स्कूल को दान कर दिया करते थे। वकालत करने के साथ ही उन्होंने 1912 में जाट सभा का गठन किया।
प्रथम विश्व युद्ध में उन्होंने रोहतक के 22 हजार से ज्यादा सैनिकों को सेना में भर्ती करवाया। सर छोटूराम को साल 1930 में दो महत्वपूर्ण कानून पास कराने का श्रेय दिया जाता है। इन कानूनों के चलते किसानों को साहूकारों के शोषण से मुक्ति मिली।

Naveen Goyal told that his real name was Richpal. He was the youngest in the house, hence his name Chhotu Ram.
He did his schooling in Delhi after studying from his village. Graduated from St Stephen’s College. From working in the newspaper, Sir Chhotu Ram also practiced law.
Sir Chhotu Ram lived a very simple life. He used to donate a large part of his salary to a school in Rohtak. Along with practicing law, he formed the Jat Sabha in 1912.
In the First World War, he got more than 22 thousand soldiers of Rohtak recruited in the army. Sir Chhotu Ram is credited with passing two important laws in the year 1930. Due to these laws, the farmers got freedom from the exploitation of moneylenders.
