इस अवसर पर आयोजित गोष्ठी का विषय रहा-द टॉपिक सोशियो इकॉनोमिक पॉलीटिकल एस्पेक्ट्स ड्यूरिंग महाराजा अग्रसेन रिजिम है। विधायक सुधीर सिंगला ने कहा कि महाराजा अग्रसेन समाज के युग प्रवर्तक थे।
महाराजा अग्रसेन ने पूरी दुनिया को समाजवाद का पाठ पढ़ाया। उनकी नगरी में कोई भी गरीब बाहर से आकर बसना चाहता था तो नगर का हर आदमी उसे एक रुपया और एक ईंट का सहयोग देकर अपने बराबर का बना लेता था।
समाजवाद का संदेश देने वाले महाराजा अग्रसेन के सिद्धान्त से आज की युवा पीढ़ी रूबरू हो इसके लिए इस यूनिवर्सिटी में महाराजा अग्रसेन चेयर की व्यवस्था की गई है।
विधायक सुधीर सिंगला ने कहा कि महाराजा अग्रसेन लक्ष्मी जी के पुजारी थे। उन्होंने लक्ष्मी जी को प्रसन्न भी कर लिया और वरदान सदा संपन्नता का वरदान ले लिया। आज भी 80 फीसदी हमारे लोग धन-धान्य से परिपूर्ण है।
आज भी संपन्न परिवार अपनी आमदनी में से 10 परसेंट धर्म-कर्म, सामाजिक व देश के लिए खर्च करता है। उसमें हॉस्पिटल, धर्मशाला तथा अन्य चैरिटेबल इंस्टीट्यूशंस बना रखे हैं। उनको चला रहे हैं। इसी से ही पता लगता है की महाराजा अग्रसेन सोशियो इकोनामिक रिफॉर्म कितना बड़ा उदाहरण थे।
श्री सिंगला ने कहा कि महाराजा अग्रसेन जिन्होंने महाभारत काल में कृष्ण जी के समक्ष पांडवों की तरफ से लड़ाई लड़ी और पांडवों ने वह लड़ाई जीती। उन्होंने क्षत्रिय वर्ण से अपना वैश्य वर्ण अपनाया।
वैसे भी उस समय जातियां नहीं थी, बल्कि वर्ण वर्ग था और 4 तरीके के वर्ण थे। एक वर्ण से दूसरे वर्ण में आसानी से जा सकते थे। क्योंकि वह यज्ञ के अंदर पशु बलि नहीं चाहते थे। उन्होंने पशु बलि नहीं देने को लेकर कानून भी बनाया। इन सब बातों से पता लगता है कि वह समाज के कितने बड़े समाज सुधारक थे।
